Diese Art ist sehr variable und unterscheiden sich noch durch weiter kleinere Merkmale. Das Verbreitungsgebiet ist ebenfalls groß. Es ist zu erwarten, dass bald auch hier die Feldnummern einziehen.

Dieses Jahr hat es ein Eriocactus warasii u. ein E. magnificus tatsächlich geschafft die Knospen vom Herbst des vergangenen Jahres im folgenden Frühjahr zur Blüte zu bringen - etwas, was in all den Jahren noch nie passiert ist!
Und dem Dauerregen zum Trotz sind sie sich voll geöffnet.

ich bin auch nicht unbedingt scharf auf den hunt. aber das andere extrem sind diese "fantasienamen", die die kleinsten unterschiede zu einer neuen art machen.gerade beim einkaufen von samen oder pflanzen ist das verwirrend, und die pflanzen/ samen sollten als f. (form) gekennzeichnet sein.

Die Nomenklatur von Hunt wird sowieso bald hinfällig sein. Die Genetischen Untersuchungen der Studiengemeinschaft südamerikanischer Kakteen ( http://www.ssk-kaktus.org/ ) sind da viel aufschlußreicher und werden bestimmt da noch einige Veränderungen bringen.

Hallo kaktusy,

Notocactus katharinae und N. roseiflorus sehen in der Blüte fast gleich aus, jedoch im Körperbau total anders.
