Discocactus

Da ich (außer dem Balkon) kein gutes Winterquartier habe, beschäftige ich mich gerne mit wärmeliebenden Arten, die man im Zimmer überwintern kann.

Neben Uebelmannia habe ich auch ein paar Pflanzen der Gattung Discocactus. Diese hier wächst aktuell am besten:

Letzten Monat gab es einen Neuzugang dieser Gattung in meiner Sammlung.

Dieser Sämling aus der Aussaat 2012 hat mittlerweile alle Geschwister überholt (obwohl lange Zeit die anderen größer waren).

Dieses Wollbüschel könnte doch eine Knospe werden ...
es wäre die erste bei dieser Gattung, die ich zu Gesicht bekomme.

Eine schöne Pflanze hast du da.

Disocactus ist aber meines Wissens nicht näher mit Discocactus verwandt, heisst nur so ähnlich.
Bei Discocactus würde ich weiße Blüten erwarten.

Ja, du hast Recht: Disocactus ist nicht dasselbe wie Discocactus. Discocactus habe ich keinen.

Die Pflanze hat mittlerweile zweimal geblüht.
Die Knospen öffnen sich abends und blühen nur eine Nacht lang.
Die Blütenblätter sind über die ganze Röhre verteilt angeordnet.

Aber es wachsen neue Wurzelspitzen, vielleicht fängt er sich wieder.

Gestern Morgen ist die Knospe noch in der Wolle gesteckt.
Sie entwickelte sich im Lauf des Tages zur vollständigen Blüte, die dann Abends aufgeblüht ist.

Das gleiche Spiel dann heute noch Mal.
Schon beim öffnen der Wohnungstür kann man die Blüte der Pflanze am anderen Ende der Wohnung deutlich riechen. Zum Glück riecht sie sehr angenehm.

Leider halten die Blüten nur eine Nacht. Morgen früh wird sich die Blüte schon wieder geschlossen haben.
