Ich hatte zum Jahreswechsel mal wieder ausgesät. Diesmal auf der Liste:

- Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus (3/5)
- Austrocactus bertinii (0/5 bzw. 0/10)
- Austrocactus coxii (1/5)
- Escobaria abdita ssp. tenuispina (5/5)
- Escobaria cubensis (2/9)
- Mammillaria bertholdii (2/5)
- Uebelmannia buiningii (3/9)

Moin Micha sieht gut aus wie gesagt mache ich in diesem Jahr auch nehme bloß größere Schalen und schmeiße gleich ne Handvoll Saat rein dann ist die Chance hoffentlich größer dass die auch so gut werden wie bei dir SG Dirk

Von den Austrocactus ist jeweils nur ein Korn gekeimt. Zumindest leben beide Sämlinge noch:

Ich habe fünf Korn ausgesät und drei sind gekeimt.
Bis jetzt leben sie alle noch und sehen auch gut aus.

Spezielle Behandlung gab es keine, ich habe sie ausgesät wie alle andere Kakteen.

Im Substrat ist auch noch Lava und Zeolith drin.
Wirklich wichtig scheint die Zusammensetzung aber nicht zu sein. Ich habe für Aussaten schon diverse Mischungen getestet, u.a. auch reinen Bims.
Das funktioniert genauso. Ich nehme oft einfach das, was ich gerade zur Hand habe.

Die Abdeckung mit Quarz ist seinerzeit eine Empfehlung von Uhlig gewesen. Ich habe damit gute Erfahrungen gemacht und mache das nun seit 15 Jahren so.

Mit dieser Methode hatte ich bisher den besten Erfolg:
- Den Topf mit dem Substrat füllen
- Kochendes Wasser darüber gießen
- Den Topf abkühlen lassen
- Körner auslegen
- Quarz-Abdeckung darüber streuen
- Den Topf in einen Plastik-Beutel stellen und diesen verschließen

Bei mir waren sie nicht eigenwillig. Da hatte ich schon deutlich zickigere Arten, z.B. Ariocarpus macht hier viel mehr Probleme.

Teile deine Portion doch in zwei Chargen auf und versuche mit den ersten fünf Körnern meine Methode.
Sollte es schief gehen, dann hast du noch einen Versuch.

Dieses Exemplar sieht gut aus und dürfte den schwersten Lebensabschnitt hinter sich haben.
